Cookie Policy

Last updated: 16 May 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Freelancer Spot uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you visit freelancerspot.in. By continuing to use our Platform, you consent to our use of cookies as described below.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences, keep you logged in, and understand how you interact with the site.

2. Types of Cookies We Use

2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the Platform to function and cannot be disabled. They include:

  • Authentication cookies: Set by Supabase Auth to keep you logged in securely across page loads. These expire when you log out or after 7 days of inactivity.
  • CSRF protection tokens: Prevent cross-site request forgery attacks.
  • Session cookies: Temporary cookies deleted when you close your browser.

2.2 Functional Cookies

These cookies remember your preferences to improve your experience:

  • Language and locale preferences.
  • Notification permission state.
  • Dashboard layout preferences.

2.3 Analytics Cookies

We use anonymous analytics to understand how users interact with the Platform so we can improve it. These cookies do not identify you personally.

  • Vercel Analytics: Collects anonymous page view data (page path, referrer, device type). No personal identifiers are collected.

2.4 Third-Party Cookies

  • Cashfree: When you make a payment, Cashfree may set cookies to detect fraud and ensure payment security. These are governed by Cashfree's Privacy Policy.
  • Twilio (via Supabase): Used for phone OTP verification via SMS. Governed by Twilio's Privacy Policy.

2.5 Push Notification Tokens

If you subscribe to push notifications, we store a notification token (not a cookie, but a similar persistent identifier) on our servers linked to your account. You can revoke this at any time in your browser settings or in the Platform notification settings.

3. Local Storage & Service Workers

In addition to cookies, we use browser local storage and a service worker to enable offline capability and faster load times for static assets. These are strictly necessary for the Progressive Web App (PWA) features to function. They do not track you across other websites.

4. Managing Cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling strictly necessary cookies (especially authentication cookies) will prevent you from logging in.

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions

You can also opt out of Vercel Analytics by enabling the "Do Not Track" setting in your browser, which we respect.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when we add new features or third-party integrations. We will notify you of significant changes via a banner on the Platform.
