Community Guidelines

Last updated: 16 May 2026

Freelancer Spot is built on trust between clients and freelancers. These guidelines apply to everyone — they explain what is expected of you and what will result in a warning or permanent ban. We enforce these consistently and without bias.

1. Be Honest

  • Accurate profiles: Your profile must reflect your real skills and experience. Do not claim certifications, degrees, or work history you do not have.
  • Accurate gigs: Your gig descriptions must accurately represent what you will deliver. Do not use misleading thumbnails or examples of work you did not create.
  • Honest reviews: Leave genuine feedback based on your actual experience. Do not bribe, threaten, or incentivise anyone to leave a review. Do not review your own gigs using alternate accounts.
  • No fake orders: Do not place fake orders on your own gigs or a friend's gigs to inflate order counts or ratings.

2. Deliver What You Promise

  • Accept orders only if you are confident you can deliver on time and to the described standard.
  • Communicate proactively if you encounter delays — do not ghost your client.
  • Deliver original work. Do not submit work created by someone else without disclosure, or work that infringes copyright, trademarks, or other IP rights.
  • Do not submit AI-generated content as your own without informing the client, especially if your gig implies human-crafted work.

3. Communicate Respectfully

  • Use professional, courteous language in all messages, order notes, and reviews.
  • Harassment, threats, hate speech, or discriminatory language of any kind will result in an immediate ban.
  • Do not share personal contact details (WhatsApp, phone, email) in messages to solicit off-platform payments.
  • Do not send unsolicited promotional messages or spam to other users.

4. Stay On-Platform

  • No off-platform payments: Arranging payment outside Freelancer Spot to avoid the platform fee is a serious violation and will result in a permanent ban. It also removes all protections from both parties.
  • You may share social links or portfolio websites in your profile. You may not use platform messages to redirect clients to external platforms for the purpose of completing transactions.

5. Prohibited Services

The following services are strictly not allowed on the Platform:

  • Academic fraud (writing essays, assignments, or exam answers on behalf of students).
  • Creating fake social media followers, reviews, or engagement.
  • Hacking, phishing, malware development, or any other cybercrime.
  • Creating deceptive, defamatory, or illegal content.
  • Content involving minors in any harmful or exploitative context.
  • Services that violate Indian law or the laws of the client's jurisdiction.

6. Privacy & Confidentiality

  • Respect client confidentiality. Do not share private project briefs or client information publicly.
  • Do not use personal data shared by clients or freelancers for any purpose other than completing the order.
  • If a client requests confidentiality, do not add the work to your portfolio.

7. Disputes & Feedback

  • Use the Platform's official dispute mechanism for disagreements — do not threaten legal action or make public accusations as a first step.
  • Provide constructive feedback in reviews. Reviews are permanent and cannot be edited after submission, so be fair and accurate.

8. Enforcement

Violations are handled as follows:

  • Warning: Minor first-time violations (e.g., late delivery without communication).
  • Temporary suspension: Repeated minor violations or a single significant violation (e.g., fake review).
  • Permanent ban: Severe violations (fraud, harassment, off-platform payments, prohibited services). Wallet balance may be forfeited in cases of fraud.

You may appeal a suspension by emailing support@freelancerspot.in within 14 days of the suspension notice.

9. Reporting Violations

If you encounter a user or gig that violates these guidelines, use the report button on the profile, gig, or message, or email support@freelancerspot.in. All reports are reviewed within 48 hours.
